TYGH Studio created an outdoor installation in Montréal’s Place des Arts for the Mode and Design Festival 2019. Inspired by archeological digs and museum displays of artifacts, this activation explored the evolution of denim through the decades. The outdoor installation was an arrangement of concrete geode shapes that created an interactive landscape with “Fossilized” imprints of iconic denim styles and accompanying information about them. Continuing the archeology theme, participants would dig for custom concrete tokens –“fossils” hidden within the indigo hued kinetic sand pit that could then be redeemed for gift cards at the nearby shopping centres Place Montréal Trust and Centre Eaton Montréal.
