Come Up To My Room

Client: Gladstone Hotel
Services: Concept, Production, Installation

Macrobiotic

An organic growth takes over the Space, making its way into the hallway and towards the rest of the building. Entering from outside the balcony, the cocoon-like form transforms the area by rendering it functionally useless. The translucent membrane is light, airy and delicate to the touch, providing a stark contrast to the manner in which it powerfully dominates the space.

This piece was a part of ‘Come Up To My Room‘, a yearly design exhibition that transforms the rooms and corridors of the Gladstone Hotel into an Art and Design Happening. In collaboration with artist, Vivien Cheng, TYGH created and installed hundreds of transparent sculptures made of pineapple paper to take over the space.
