The Lost & Found Forest
The Lost and Found Forest was a 40-foot-long tunnel that mimicked a natural landscape using artificial materials: life-size images of trees were recreated using lengths of plastic string intricately woven around thousands of nails. Sounds reminiscent of a forest were present, but also man-made. If you listened carefully, you would hear the creaking of trees, the wind and chatter of woodpeckers, but in fact were the rustling and wobbling of different plastics and the hammering of nails.
The installation allowed visitors to be immersed within a forest for a short while before exiting and finding themselves back in the urban landscape they know.
